Journey to the West - Day 1

Well it is the end of the first day of travel for Will and I, have just stop an hour short from our destination. We made it through Michigan with ease. It is nice that the State Government raised the speed limit to 70 mph. If we would of Travel through Ontario we would have arrived in Sault Ste. Marie in 12 hours of leaving Windsor. When traveling through Michigan it takes 6 hours to get there. Will and I managed to arrive in the Soo in 4 hours. Knowing that fact you will know why i have no pictures of our Travel through Michigan.

Now going through Michigan was an ease and we were able to cut a lot of time off for this trip. When we arrived in Canada though our time has been put on a standstill. We really haven't gained time or have lost time. When we arrived in the Soo, I had to have my car checked for drugs and weapons. Then there is the Trans Canada Highway. Highway 17 is very slow compared to the high speeds in Michigan.

But since we are not driving at high speeds on the Highway 17, it allows you to take in all the scenery around you. Even though Will and I will be living in a province that is filled with tremendous beauty, Ontario has its fair share. The Canadian shield has marked beautiful rock structures in the landscape of Ontario. They are not as big as the Rockey's but they are just a breathtaking.

Also too we cannot forget that Ontario gets to pleasure of having 4 season and we get to gaze with our mouths open at all the reds, oranges, yellows, and purples that fill in the tree lines of the Great Lakes - St. Lawrence forest. This I will miss as I depart to a province that has very little fall colour.

Well now for a good nights rest and back on the road again tomorrow.
